LRNG uses technology to capture learning wherever it happens, make it discoverable for all youth and make it count through digital badges.
Learning as a lifestyle
LRNG.org offers an array of learning opportunities young people can access right from their mobile phone. Learning is interest-driven and hands-on, inviting young people to pursue their passions and develop real-world skills.
LRNG works with national and local content partners to create learning Playlists that support high-demand academic and workplace skills. Young people who complete a Playlist earn digital badges to document their learning.
Playlists encourage self-directed, discovery-based learning. Young people who complete Playlists earn badges and can unlock opportunities such as job shadowing and internships
Corporations and nonprofits can partner with LRNG to co-design Playlists that are available to all youth on LRNG’s global platform. This summer, LRNG will provide a set of LRNG Playlists that connect young people in our communities to learning opportunities like Job Readiness, Financial Literacy, Digital Literacy and Civic Tech.
Participating organizations and schools can offer learning content to a broader audience in their community by creating local Playlists through the LRNGPlaylist Builder.
Digital games have enormous potential for learning. Games can immerse young people in real-world
contexts that require 21st century skills such as collaboration, creativity problem-solving, and
LRNG’s GlassLab is harnessing that power by making game-based learning visible and measurable.
GlassLab provides high-quality games with a proven track-record for improving learning outcomes and
assessing higher-order thinking.
GlassLab teams up with commercial developers to create educational versions of popular titles,
including Civilization EDU (debuting in early 2017); SimCityEDU: Pollution Challenge; and Mars
Generation One: Argubot Academy EDU, in collaboration with NASA and the National Writing
Putting it all together
Through LRNG.org, young people can access national Playlists co-designed by LRNG learning scientists and partners such as Gap Inc., Fossil Foundation, Best Buy, WE, and the University of Chicago. These Playlists are designed around employer-endorsed 21st century workforce competencies.
Our 12 LRNG Cities also offer local Playlists. Using the LRNG Playlist Builder, cities construct a defined curriculum and offer interest-driven learning content – curating and linking existing learning opportunities across their communities and online.
GlassLab, LRNG’s game-based learning and assessment unit, will provide high-quality game-based learning experiences and embed next-generation assessments in LRNG products.
